Emma Lynn began tearing through the yearbooks. It would have made sense for her to have less than the average person since she had skipped ahead. Instead, Emma Lynn had gotten yearbooks for all of her years in school and the years she skipped over. She knew he had to have been in one of…

Co-Workers
There was a storm a brewin, or at least that’s what it sounded like inside of Sandra’s head. Thoughts flashed back and forth. Her emotions soared and crashed. She was well aware that she was panicking, but she was far past the point of controlling it. She was locked into her seat, and there was…
Divallo & McGruff
It needed to happen, and it needed to happen now. There wasn’t going to be another time at another place when they would both be together. Not like this at least. Dave laughed at himself. How dramatic he sounded. They would probably run into each other again. While it might not be soon or at…
Eighteen Hands
Eighteen hands Twenty-eight hundred stone held together under flesh and mangled with bone A hidden face beneath a woven facade Strong and weak A broken dichotomy I know you, though we’ve never met I know your kind – the mold, the stone I’ve been inside your cave of hate. Watching as she grows near The…
An October Breeze
There was a grave chill in the air. It ran down Bonnie’s dress wrapping itself around everyone of the little, invisible blonde hairs that covered her body. It was easy to forget that the human body was covered, or supposed to be, with little fine hairs to provide sensory context and feels. It didn’t help that women especially were trained to not have body hair, causing most of them to suppress the fact all together. As Bonnie made her way through the graveyard toward the church, there was no way should could forget about her body hairs as they all stood at attention brushing against her clothing. If she hadn’t been witnessing the events her eyes were locked onto, she wouldn’t believe it was happening.
Tea Time
“Ugh,” she snarled as she walked into the bathroom. “I don’t even want to talk to you anymore,” Petunia said as she waved her hands at her reflection. “That can’t be good,” she chided on her way back to the kitchen. “It’s one thing to not want to talk to anyone else, but to no longer bear conversations with yourself,” Petunia continued as she turned on the tea kettle, “well, that can’t be good.” The water boiled and Petunia made her tea.
Deep Blue Eyes
Putting down the knife and pulled on her clothing. Her pants were up, she shirt was laying over them as neatly as possible as she nervously opened the door. Silently she cursed herself for not checking the peephole beforehand. There a large man stood before her. Tall and muscular. Short hair, longer beard. Eyes that looked sunken in. He studied her as if he wanted to recognize her. At first he said nothing. After a moment of silence, as Belinda was about to ask him what he wanted, “your arm,” he said, “it’s bleeding.”
The Onlookers
They knew that – some of them did. Some of them watched her, silently encouraging her to sit, sit and shut down. Not sit and be mindfully relaxed. They wanted her to sit and remove herself from the world. The others wanted her to be active – get the things she loved doing done. Relaxing was unnecessary. There was time to relax when she was old, decrepit, and basically dead. The rest, the small population hiding through and behind the others wanted her to cease to exist. Rebecca knew it. She could feel it weaving through the stares of the others. All of them moving silently through the air, tangled together, weighted down and unwilling to move from their corner.
Dr. Magpie
Dr. Daniel Stewart left his home on the morning of February 2nd and headed to work. He wasn’t going in to see patients, just had to pick up a few files from his office and check in with the part-time bookkeeper, part-time receptionist, Ana. She had been doing an incredible job, he was hoping she would change her mind about doing only part-time work and take on a full time position as office manager. She seem reluctant every time he mentioned it. He had a feeling there was something she wasn’t telling him, but he didn’t push it. As long as she kept doing the caliber of work she was doing he could deal. Dr. Daniel was in and out of the office in an hour and forty-five. He was right on schedule for his next stop. Running into the watch shop on Main Street, Dr. Daniel noticed a beautiful woman admiring a rather stunning necklace in the window. The woman blushed as he nodded his head at her and entered the store. He quickly picked out a name brand watch – purchased three of them – and the necklace the woman had been eyeing as he arrived. In his mind it was always good to keep a nice piece of jewelry on hand.
Deep Breath In
It had been good timing too. Alissia had had a shit day to end a shit week of an overall shit month. This didn’t mean Alissia was whiny or unhappy. Quite the opposite, she loved her life and all of the people and things in it. She loved her job and her hobbies. She loved her dog, Jelly Bean! She was just having some trouble keeping control of her anger. Her blood boiling, skin constricting, full red face flush anger.
